The story has it, that grave robbers avoided the plague by using herbal preparations that included the herbs in this vinegar! This vinegar has endless uses, but one of my favorite ways is to add it to my spaghetti sauce. A sauce filled with this vinegar, lots of onion and garlic, some fresh oregano and a couple of slices of dried astragalus root, will help in warding off any evil plague that may come your way! And, if you feel like your coming down with a cold, the perfect tonic is: 1tbs thieves vinegar, 1 tbs fresh lemon juice, 1tbs raw honey, 1tsp grated ginger root, and enough hot water to fill your mug.
This herbal vinegar is made amazing thanks to:
Oregano- and it's powerful antioxidant, antiseptic and antibacterial properties
Lavender- with its antibacterial properties
Rosemary- thanks to its volatile oils that are antimicrobial and diaphoretic
Sage-with its warming and drying energy
Thyme-and it’s affinity for the lungs
Garlic-with its amazing anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties
How I make my thieves vinegar:
Fill a quart jar half full with equal parts chopped fresh oregano, rosemary, sage, thyme, and lavender. Add about 1/4 cup chopped garlic and a teaspoon of black peppercorns. Fill jar with raw apple cider vinegar. Give thanks for the blessing of the ingredients you were given for this vinegar, and ask for the grace of healing and health to be infused into this beautiful herbal preparation. Let sit in a dark space, shaking daily, for about a month. strain and bottle.
Many Herbal Blessings!
